Solar collectors heat your water through a coil in the cylinder. The cylinder has two coils, one providing heat from the central heating and the other from the solar collector.
Kedco recommends that you use a pressurised system with a safety valve (3 bar), automatic air vent and expansion vessel, and operate the system with a working pressure of 2 bar.
The plumbing from the solar collector to the cylinder should only consist of copper piping. This should be 15mm piping; it is not acceptable to use plastic or soldered plumbing filling. Copper and compression fitting must be used.
